The role of commitment for successful software process improvement and software quality management.
Kerstin Viola Siakas, Elli Georgiadou · 2003
In this paper the authors discuss the role of commitment in Software Process Improvement (SPI) and Software Quality Management (SQM). The fundamental principles of Total Quality Management (TQM) are outlined within the context of software development and the need for constant commitment by the developers and most importantly by top management. The qualitative and quantitative results of an extensive empirical study carried out by the authors are presented and interpreted. Conclusions are drawn and indications of further work are outlined.
