Abstract — This paper examines the meaning of context in relation to metasearch base query expansion. The global network is the transforming reality of the information environment. Fist of all, it is about distributed information resources and distributing computing. Distributed computing has elicited the trend towards higher level of abstraction and more formalysed ontological support for information systems.
