A Visual Control Architecture for a Virtual Humanoid

Nathan R. Sprague, Dana H. Ballard · 2001

Recently, Rabie and Terzopoulos have transplantedthe visual capabilities of their virtual fish to a virtual humanoid agent [8]. Virtual humanoids represent apromising direction for vision research. One advantage of virtual humanoids is the wealth of data avail-able on how people deal with visual tasks. This information provides a baseline for evaluating the perfor-mance of virtual agents. Human data can also provide hints about how a successful vision system should beorganized.
