GUTS. A GAME ON URBAN TRANSPORT SIMULATION

Juan de Dios Ortúzar, L G Willumsen · 1980

This paper consists of four parts. The first one gives an overview of the objectives and characteristics of GUTS, a computer based urban transport game. The second part gives a more detailed account of GUTS and provides instructions for using it. This section was also planned so that it can be photocopied to provide players with a self-contained set of instructions for using it. Players will need some additional information regarding the past history of the particular city they will be concerned with. The third part contains further documentation for the administrator of the game. This information should enable him to set up a city with special characteristics and specify investment project details and crises. The last part has also be planned as a self-contained set and can be used to explain the game at an intermediate level. The section is in fact a reproduction of the recording of a tape-slide presentation of the game and has marked on it the places where slides should be changed. (TRRL)
