Denoising via Nonorthogonal Wavelet Transforms
Kathrin Berkner, Raymond O. Wells · Birkhäuser Boston eBooks · 2001
In this chapter we study whether the main results of the state-of-the-art denoising method proposed by Donoho and Johnstone for orthogonal discrete wavelet transforms can be transfered to the case of using nonorthogonal wavelet transforms. We review the Donoho—Johnstone method and discuss the three topics “threshold-selection,” “L 2 -approximation,” and “smoothness characterization” for biorthogonal and redundant wavelet transforms. These keywords were added by machine and not by the authors. This process is experimental and the keywords may be updated as the learning algorithm improves.
