So far in this book, we’ve been concentrating On the core MSMQ functionality available in MSMQ 2.0, as it’s still going to be some time before installations of Windows Server 2003 are rolled out in live environments. However, MSMQ 3.0 introduces several major new features that were designed to expand the application developer’s set of tools, and we’ll look in detail at these new features in this chapter. The key enhancements are found in the following new areas: Internet Messaging , which provides support for sending and retrieving messages through Hypertext Transfer Protocol (HTTP) The Programmable Management COM interface , which provides several classes for managing queues and computers programmatically Queue Aliases , which are Active Directory objects used to reference queues by means of an alias Multiple-Destination Messaging , which allows you to send messages to multiple destinations using distribution lists, multicast addresses, and multiple-element format names These keywords were added by machine and not by the authors. This process is experimental and the keywords may be updated as the learning algorithm improves.
