Contextual reasoning and importing contexts
Christo Dichev · 1999
This paper tackles the problem of understanding when and how a reasoning component of a distributed rea-soning system is affected by the other components, and how it affects them. A number of relevant concepts which have a precise intuition in terms of coopera-tive reasoning systems are proposed thus providing a ground for defining a particular class of contexts- im-porting context. The notion of importing context refers to those contexts of a MCS satisfying the property that only correct with respect to the other contexts formu-las are derivable from them. A number of properties of the importing contexts are presented and discussed in a framework of cooperative reasoning systems.
