Towards a VLSI design of Satir
S. Lelandais, Bertrand Zavidovique · OSTI OAI (U.S. Department of Energy Office of Scientific and Technical Information) · 1982
The authors first recall some general remarks about the vision of the robot: industrial surrounding, use of synthetic realistic pictures as models, object characterization by picture processing as well as by templates. Then, the visual system Satir, which has been already built, is described. After having been operated for several months, a few drawbacks became evident from the programming and from the technological points of view. Some partially tested improvements are proposed. Two different kinds of VLSI-cells are shown and discussed within the context of the associated architectures. 7 references.
