A study to design an ecommerce web site using design principles and elements

Sangman Han · 2002

Internal and International Electronic Commerce is increasingly feasible as a result of the expansion of communication networks and common people's concern and participation with Electronic Markets. On the Internet, customers do not need to physically go to shops if they connect to a Web site. In addition, they can save time and money buying goods. However, customers still spend a lot of time and have difficulty with the Internet because many users encounter problems on ecommerce Web sites. The reasons vary from hardware, the Web site itself, the Internet connections, etc. Nevertheless, most problems come from the Web site itself. Web sites are designed by few designers and/or developers, whereas many different groups of people use Web sites, such as students, housekeepers, small business operators, etc. Each may have different ideas of approaching specific Web sites and levels of understanding.
