Windows Form Applications

Brian Bischof · Apress eBooks · 2002

Creating a Windows application, now referred to as a Windows Form in .NET, is the standard way of writing desktop solutions. The .NET Framework provides many new controls to explore and it enhances many of the existing controls. Although all these new enhancements may seem overwhelming at first, you will find that many of the things that you did on a daily basis when writing a Windows application are very similar. The new tricks added to .NET will certainly make your application more feature-rich, but you will still rely upon the basic event-driven skills you already know. This chapter focuses on showing you how to perform the common tasks needed every day for writing Windows Form applications. The other features are left for you to explore in MSDN.
