IMPLEMENTING A DATA-AQUISITION AND MONITORING SYSTEM IN THE BIO-METEOROLOGIC AREA

Gabriel Gorghiu, Carmen Leane Nicolescu · Bulletin of University of Agricultural Sciences and Veterinary Medicine Cluj-Napoca Horticulture · 2006

Data acquisition and monitoring systems are used worldwide, at a large scale, for providing reliable and cost-effective method with a view to record meteorological and environmental data (Myslek-Laurikainen et all. 2003). The system, implemented as a part of the local air-monitoring network (having an important research target in the frame of research programmes), contains a digital signal controller that allows the communication between various sensors that measure meteorological parameters and a computer. The system (Fig.1) could provide information concerning: air temperature, humidity, solar radiation, rain quantity, wind intensity and direction, soil temperature and humidity (at the surface and inside), leaf temperature. A Windows-based software facilitates graphical display and analysis of collected readings.
