The contributions of this system study are in three areas: 1) A network interface which defines a common data model, a set of operations, and the ability to customize the node operation in a consistent manner. 2) A transducer interface which supports the ‘electronic data sheet ’ for transducers with voltage and digital outputs. 3) A set of node behaviors which simplify the installation and configuration of a group of nodes to perform a measurement or control application.
