Situatedness in Requirements Engineering
Hubert F. Hofmann · Requirements Engineering · 2000
Most challenges in RE have their roots not just in technical issues but also in managerial, organizational, economical and social issues (Davis 1993, Bubenko 1995, Macaulay 1996, Goguen 1996). Prevalent RE processes and methods, however, focus on how experts employ technological knowledge to construct software that satisfies stated requirements. Several authors have identified problems with exclusively applying a primarily technical approach to RE. For example, Greenbaum and Kyng (1991) as well as Floyd et al. (1989) not only consider technical aspects, but also take into account social interaction as crucial for the acceptance of software.
