A LARGE-SCALE SYSTEMIC FUNCTIONAL GRAMMAR OF GREEK

Aggeliki Dimitromanolaki, Vangelis Karkaletsis · 2001

This paper presents a large-scale computational grammar of Greek, couched in the framework of Systemic Functional Linguistics. The grammar is being developed in the context of M-PIRO, a multilingual natural language generation project, where personalized descriptions of museum exhibits are generated automatically from a single database source. Although the grammar is still under development, it already provides a wide coverage of the Greek syntax and morphology. Our long-term goal is to produce a wide-coverage computational grammar of Greek suited to generation applications. 1
