DOM Manipulation and Dynamic Content
Bipin Joshi · Apress eBooks · 2013
Although HTML pages are static by nature, jQuery can be used to make them dynamic in many ways. Using jQuery you can not only change the content of Document Object Model (DOM) elements but also add, remove, or replace DOM elements on the fly. This makes your web page dynamic in terms of its content and DOM structure. Consider a situation in which you are fetching data residing in SQL Server using the Ajax technique and then want to display this data to the end user in a table. Because you don't know how many rows will be returned by the server, you have to add rows and columns to the table dynamically. The DOM manipulation techniques discussed in this chapter are handy in such situations. These keywords were added by machine and not by the authors. This process is experimental and the keywords may be updated as the learning algorithm improves.
