Dynamic Query Modification from User Dialog in Relevance Feedback

Takashi Tanaka, Shinsuke Nakajima, Katsumi Tanaka · 2003

It is difficult for users to gain information they want in an existing system when they don't grasp exactly what they want. In the real world, communication with other people helps them know their demand. Users can obtain information for their purposes more easily after they understand precisely what they really need through an interaction with others. In this research, we propose a information retreival system based on the idea above. Our system enables users to talk to others when they're seeking information Our system can automatically create queries based on user's demand which it extract from their dialog. We take particular note of change of query generation method according to dialog conditions. We think that our system enables to explore infomarion space efficiently.
