A Real World Evaluation of Encounter Gossip

DE Cooper, PD Ezhilchelvan, Isi Mitrani · School of Computing Science Technical Report Series · 2008

Encounter Gossip is a family of message propagation protocols for mobile ad-hoc networks. The coverage of propagation (the fraction of nodes that receive the message) can be made arbitrarily close to 1 at the cost of increased bandwidth overhead. This paper evaluates the performance of Encounter Gossip in a real world scenario: an office block complex. The mobility trace of the experiment is examined and used as the input for further simulations. © 2008 University of Newcastle upon Tyne.
