C compiler relative performance benchmarks for the IBM personal computer

Frank McGirt, Joshua Lee Wilkerson · OSTI OAI (U.S. Department of Energy Office of Scientific and Technical Information) · 1985

The relative performance of various C compilers has been measured. The AT and XT models of the IBM personal computer were used together with the PCDOS operating system and the 80287/8087 numerical coprocessor option. Results are summarized, and in addition, the considerations involved in choosing the best compiler for a particular application are discussed. 7 refs.
