Analysis of Cache Effects and Resource Scheduling in Distributed Parallel Processing Systems.

Vijay K. Naik, Mark S. Squillante · PPSC · 1995

In this paper we analyze the effects of resource scheduling decisions on the cache misses experienced by parallel scientific applications, and the impact of this cache overhead on system performance. Our results demonstrate that both of these effects have significant performance implications, suggesting that cache considerations should be incorporated in the resource scheduling policies for distributed parallel systems.
