Parallel computers: object-oriented, functional, logic

P. C. Treleaven · CERN Document Server (European Organization for Nuclear Research) · 1990

Here is an introduction to object-oriented, functional, and logic parallel computing on which the fifth generation of computer systems will be based. Six major European companies present the results of a joint investigation into this type of computer architecture. Coverage includes concepts for parallel computing languages, a parallel object-oriented system (DOOM) and its language (POOL), an object-oriented multilevel VLSI simulator using POOL, and implementation of lazy functional languages on parallel architectures.
