Discussion & Conclusion: The implementation of dynamic spline theory reveals to be a valid formulation for simulation of the flexibility of one-dimension elements like beams. Due to the flexibility of the mathematical formulation, a small set of degrees of freedom is sufficient to simulate a very variable shape of the beam in order to take into account large displacement effects with accuracy. This feature is important for the integration in the augmented reality environment where the simulation has to be computed in real time.
