Human interface research and practice at Apple Computer
Paulien F. Strijland · International Conference on Human-Computer Interaction · 1997
The main premise of this panel is that poor interface design results from the existence of a gap between practice and research. This paper argues that poor design in many products is not the result of a gap between practice and research, but rather a result of poor business practices. A case study of Apple Computer,Inc.is used to illustrate that practice and research don't have to be divided by a wide gap, and several other reasons for poor interface design will be given.
