A PPC Encoding Technique with Microprocessor for RPV and Other Remotely-Controlled Vehicles

In RPVs and other unmanned vehicles, a variety of control signals will have to be transmitted from the vehicle as well as from ground segments. Different coding techniques like PCM, FM, PPC etc are being adapted for this purpose. In order to reduce the size of the system and increase reliability, a micro-processor based PPC encoder using Zilog 8002 has been developed.In this paper, the details of the design and development of the encoder has been discussed. Possibilities of using the same microprocessor for additional applications are also presented.
