Bootstrapping Visual Components of the DiaGen Specification Tool with DiaGen

Mark Minas · 2003

DiaGen is a tool for specifying visual languages and gener- ating graphical editors from such specifications. Specifications are mainly based on graph transformation and graph grammars, which are inher- ently visual formalisms. Hence, DiaGen's specification language is a visual language consisting of graphical as well as textual parts, and DiaGen naturally requires a graphical tool for writing resp. drawing such specifications. This paper describes how DiaGen has been used for specifying the visual parts of DiaGen's specification language and their corresponding graphical editors. DiaGen has then generated these editors as visual components of the DiaGen specification tool.
