Case Study: Behavior-Based Recommender Services for Scientificc Libraries
Andreas Neumann · Contributions to management science · 2009
A first behavior-based item-centered recommendation service using browser session input data was introduced in the OPAC of the University Library of Karlsruhe (UBKA) in 2002. In the following years, this system has continuously been improved, evaluated, and additionally set up as external service for different national and international library catalogs. The last major update was the switch to the current web service version (facilitating WSDL, XML and SOAP) in 2006. To answer the question, which co-inspections occur non-random, the algorithms of the previous chapter are applied.
